This 16-acre reservoir was built in the 1930's as the primary water supply for the city of Bethany. The lake remains as part of the city water supply today, with water from other reservoirs piped into the lake. The area is owned and managed by the city of Bethany. Questions should be directed to City Hall at (660) 425-3511. MDC began managing the fishery in 1986, through a Community Assistance Program (CAP) agreement with the city.
To facilitate public fishing, 10-car parking area, gravel boat ramp, accessible privy, and accessible fishing platform were constructed.
Channel catfish are regularly stocked in the lake by MDC. Other common fish species include largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, and common carp.
