Grindstone Lake (Cameron)

Grindstone Lake
This 208-acre lake was constructed in 1991 as a water supply for Cameron. The dam was recently raised to bring the lake to its current size. The reservoir is surrounded by 800 city-owned acres of forest and old fields which provide a good setting for picnicking, bird-watching, primitive camping, and nature viewing. Since enrollment in the Community Assistance Program, the Missouri Conservation Department has added two parking lots, a disabled-user accessible privy, concrete boat ramp, disabled-user accessible fishing dock, and access roads to the facilities. Grindstone Lake provides fishing opportunities for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish. Channel catfish are stocked periodically by the Conservation Department.
