MDC Busch Shooting Range to be closed Sept 24 for site testing

St. Charles, Mo. — The shooting range at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 24, to perform additional site testing in preparation for range renovations beginning in 2015.

The shooting range will be open for use again on Friday, Sept. 27. The range is normally closed each week on Wednesday and Thursday.

During the range’s closure, shooters are encouraged to consider using other MDC shooting facilities. These include the staffed Jay Henges Shooting Range at I-44 and Antire Road in High Ridge. MDC also operates unstaffed ranges at the following locations: Reifsnider State Forest east of Warrenton on Route M in Warren County, William R. Logan Conservation Area off State Highway E northeast of Silex in Lincoln County, Little Indian Creek Conservation Area off Highway A in Washington County southeast of Sullivan, and Huzzah Conservation Area off Highway E in Crawford County north of Steelville.

The August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area Shooting Range is located in St. Charles off Route D, approximately five miles west of Highway 94.
