JOPLIN, Mo. – The natural world at night can be both unusual and interesting.
People looking for some nocturnal and conservation-oriented Halloween fun should plan to attend the “Halloween: Strangest Things on the Glades” program Oct. 25 or Oct. 26 at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center. These free events, which are from 6-9 p.m. each evening, are a cooperative effort of MDC and the Wildcat Glades Friends Group.
Enjoy the “spooky” side of nature by taking a guided hike along the Shoal Creek Center trails and learn some unusual characteristics about some of the animals native to Missouri. While hikes are taking place outdoors, activities and crafts will be going on inside the education center building.
