If you want to learn more about Missouri’s reptiles and amphibians, plan to attend the “Show-Me Herps” program on Saturday, June 17, at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Springfield Conservation Nature Center.
The program, which is free to the public, will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
MDC Naturalist Program Supervisor John Miller will tell people how frogs, toads and salamanders differ from lizards, turtles and snakes and how these creatures help keep our natural world balanced.
After the program, Miller will be available from 3 to 4 p.m. to autograph “Show-Me Herps,” the new book he has authored, which can be purchased at the Nature Center.
Also from 3 to 4 p.m., live reptiles will be on display, courtesy of the Finley Valley Serpentarium in Ozark.
