ST. CHARLES Mo - Join the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), local officials, community groups and volunteers to help clean up litter in the St. Louis area on Thursday, April 7.

The event is part of Missouri's annual Trash Bash in April to spread awareness of the state's litter problem and work toward a litter-free state. The initiative is sponsored by MDC and MoDOT as part of the ongoing No MOre Trash! campaign.

The event will be held at MoDOT’s St. Charles Maintenance Building, 2360 South Old Highway 94.  Trash Bash partners will address the media and the public in front of a giant trash mound at a news conference at 10 a.m. Following the news conference, attendees are invited to pick up litter along Route 94 east heading toward Interstate 70.

In 2010, more than 12,000 Trash Bash volunteers and other participants collected more than 128,000 bags of trash and tons of other debris throughout Missouri.
