Native plant sale at Springfield Nature Center
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Many homeowners are discovering the benefits of landscaping with native plants. Plants that are naturally adapted to their surroundings tend to be less dependent on pesticides and watering hoses and, at the same time, friendlier to butterflies, songbirds and other local wildlife.
Homeowners can learn more about using native plants at the Native Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Springfield Conservation Nature Center. In addition to featuring a number of regional businesses that sell native plants, this event will also feature several guest speakers that will talk about the benefits of incorporating native plants into your landscaping strategies.
The event is free and open to all ages. No registration is required. For more information about the event, call the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, 417-888-4237. The Nature Center is located in southeast Springfield at 4601 S. Nature Center Way.
