Kansas City, Mo. – An autumn night’s outdoor sounds, sights and creatures will be among the fun when the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center hosts HOWLoween 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 4750 Troost Ave. in Kansas City. This free Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) event welcomes all ages to explore nature and celebrate the seasonal hinge from summer to winter. Feel free to come in a costume.
Discovery Center staff and volunteers will transform the outdoor garden into an adventuresome walk with fun activities for youths and nature exhibits. HOWLoween stops along the trial will include birds of prey displays, bats, Track or Treat, the Bone Yard, the Bat Cave, games and crafts. A campfire with acoustic music will welcome attendees. Also, the center’s outdoor garden plants and trees will be in their autumn colors. Visitors can also see indoor nature exhibits.
The Gorman Discovery Center is just a few blocks east of the Country Club Plaza. MDC connects people with nature in the heart of Kansas City.
