Jay Henges Shooting Range holds Hunter Education Day Camp July 25-29

St. LOUIS, Mo.—Youths wanting to become Missouri Hunter Education-certified will have a chance to do that and more at the Jay Henges Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center’s Annual Hunter Education Day Camp.  The camp takes place Monday through Friday, July 25-29 and is free for kids age 11-15. 

Participants will learn all the skills they need to pass the Missouri hunter education exam, which will be given the final day, and receive their certification.  The camp will go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.  Youths should being a lunch every day, except Friday.  A pizza party will be held after the exam.

In addition to hunting safety, participants will learn a variety of other outdoor skills.  They’ll get the chance to try out other activities as well, including rifle target shooting, shotgun patterning, trapshooting, archery, air rifles, crossbow shooting, atlatl throw, and firearm care and cleaning.
