ST. JOSEPH, Mo -- Free hotdogs and a discussion on plans to beautify and improve the fishing at Corby Pond will be offered from 5:30 p.m. to dusk on May 18 at the pond near 22nd Street in The Parkway at St. Joseph. The event is hosted by the Loess Hills Chapter of the Missouri Master Naturalists.

Master Naturalists and experts from partnering agencies or groups will be on hand to talk about improvements that can boost water quality and fishing at the lake, which is in Corby Grove in the city’s historic parkway. The Master Naturalists, volunteers who serve conservation projects, are planning steps such as removing invasive species from vegetation near the pond.

Anyone who enjoys the pond and the park is invited to attend. For more information, call 816-271-3100.
