This class covers the basic equipment, materials, and techniques needed to reload ammunition and customize the loads to your firearms. We will demonstrate the process and then give you some hands-on experience reloading ammunition. All equipment and materials are provided.

Many common trees are relatively easy to identify in the summer when they have all their leaves. As winter approaches these leaves fall off and the trees look different.

Attend this hands-on workshop to learn the tricks to trees so you know your trees throughout the seasons.

Walk-in (all ages) What's more relaxing than sipping on a nice hot cup of tea on a chilly winter day? Many people wouldn't relate tea to nature, but you might be surprised by the connections. Come and learn about different natural teas you can make from native plants while sipping on some Discovery Center made tea! This volunteer naturalist led story program is ideal for preschool - kindergarten children and will take them on journeys to learn about wildlife, habitats and more. Learn all that mysterious owls can teach us by dissecting an owl pellet! This VIRTUAL program will guide you through the contents of the pellet provided by the Burr Oak Woods Nature Center. You can pick up your dissection kit from the nature center beginning Wednesday, December 6th, until Friday, December 15th. The online guided dissection will begin Saturday, December 16th at 10AM as a naturalist explains what might be present in your pellet. All participants will receive a WebEx invitation to join prior to the event.

Pressing flowers in the spring and summer can make for some fun winter craft projects. We’ll talk about the basics of pressing flowers and provide guidance on making your own pressed flower mason jar, ornament, and wooden gift tag. All supplies are provided. Space is limited.
