Ozarks streams offer excellent smallmouth bass fishing. Learn what type of tackle to use, places to go, and the current research and management activities surrounding this strong fighting fish. All ages.

Nesting season comes early for owls and they’re already hooting in anticipation. Dickerson Park Zoo will join us for a close-up look at live owls. We’ll also head outside and try to call wild owls during a guided hike. Bring a flashlight if you have one. Please be sure to register, since seating is limited. Email or Call Instructor if you have more people coming than you registered.

Discover the basics of archery shooting. We will cover things like bow nomenclature, hand set, bow set, pre-draw, stance, and much more and then go shooting on the static archery range. You may bring your own bow to the program or use ours.

Join us for a fly fishing trip to Walter Woods! This program is to help all skills levels get ready for the opening of trout park season March 1st and more! we will cover casting, fly presentation, hooking and landing fish of all types from the Walter Woods Aquatic Education pond. No fee for the program, but dress for the weather, supplies will be provided and you may bring your own equipment.

Ducks, geese, and other waterfowl provide hours of entertainment while out on the water. Paddle in and join us for an evening of fun and learning about our waterfowl friends. Please, no younger siblings and only one adult per group of kids. Ages 7-12.

Love is in the air, especially for some of Missouri’s amphibians, and proof can be heard in their early spring choruses. See live animals and learn about their amazing life cycles and how you can help these fascinating animals. Kids can make their own amphibian to take home after the program.

Hike with us at Swan Creek, part of Mark Twain National Forest near Garrison, MO. Meet at the Nature Center and carpool. Bring a sack lunch and water and wear comfortable hiking shoes.
