Get ready for the twelfth block of our prairie themed quilt! This month features the coneflower. Glade, pale purple, purple, yellow and gray headed, this member of the daisy family starts showing its colors starting in May and continues its show through October. Unfortunately, those colors are threatened by harvest for the medicinal herb market. This program is designed for ages 16 and up. Under 18 must have a parent or guardian present. Thanks to some amazing animal care volunteers, they are fed a delicious smorgasbord of crickets, worms, minnows, and more! - Friday night the 13th a prairie movie will be aired at dusk at the Dunn Ranch Headquarters building.

- Saturday morning will have a sunrise birding hike at nearby Pawnee Prairie hosted by Audubon society members.

-The main event of Prairie Days will take place at an adjacent field Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm. There will be bison viewing tours along with many other prairie themed events.
