(Ages 6-16) From almost zero to half a million turkeys in 50 years – Missouri’s restoration of the wild turkey gives us a chance to observe its interesting natural history. Let’s celebrate the return of the wild turkey while learning about these interesting and unique birds, with discussion, activities and crafts. Dress for the weather, because if possible we’ll go outside to look for turkeys or their sign.

Learning about nature from a young age is good for kids and for the environment. Every month, join Rockwoods naturalists for an outdoor adventure with your little one. The entire class is presented outside, so please dress to be outside, wear sunscreen, and bring bug spray. Siblings are welcome, but please note this class is designed for ages 3–6.

This month we will be discussing Adventures of a Young Naturalist an autobiographical account of David Attenborough’s early years as one of the world's leading naturalists. He is well-known by everyone who enjoys wildlife programs on television and an avid conservationist.

Animal Trapping Workshop
November 30 & December 1 • Saturday • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. • And • Sunday • 7 a.m.- 3 p.m.
(Ages 11 and up)
Reservations begin November 16
This two-day clinic will consist of classroom and field exercises. Saturday will cover trap types, cable restraints, trap stakes, lure types of traps for particular animals, and setting up a trap line. Sunday, we will run the trap line, dispatch the animals, skin animals, flesh pelts and discuss where to sell your pelts. https://short.mdc.mo.gov/ZGG
