Feeling crafty? It’s time for our annual natural and recycled craft night. We’ll make items that you can give as gifts during the holiday. Please bring a cloth tote bag, t-shirt, or plain bandana to print on, a bag to carry home all your items, and plenty of creativity! Please, no younger siblings and only one adult per group of kids. Ages 7-12.

Dutch ovens have a long and celebrated history spanning from Paul Revere, to Lewis and Clark, and into modern times. Come learn about this simple piece of cookware, how to use it, and sample some of the wonderful things that can be created in a Dutch Oven. This program is for women only. Girls 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult female. Ages 14-adult.

Hike with us at Swan Creek, part of Mark Twain National Forest near Garrison, MO. Meet at the Nature Center and carpool. Bring a sack lunch and water and wear comfortable hiking shoes. We’re celebrating the annual return of bald eagles to Lake Springfield. This special event includes the indoor presence of Phoenix, a live bald eagle from Dickerson Park Zoo. Programs will be held at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center every hour on the hour from 9 am to 3 pm. Stop by anytime and plan to spend about two hours. Opportunities to view bald eagles in the wild, with the assistance of volunteers and spotting scopes, will be available at the Lake Springfield Boathouse and Marina during event hours. All ages.
