Would you like to improve your wing shooting skills using non-toxic shot? Join us in learning the proper way to select the best ammunition and choke combination for different migratory and upland game bird hunting. We will also discuss how to judge distances and properly pattern your shotgun. Firearms, ammunition, and safety equipment will be provided however you are encouraged to bring your own shotgun and chokes if they are approved for use with nontoxic shot.

Cable Restraint

In this 1-day course, you will learn the basic design of cable restraints as well as how to properly prepare, maintain, and how to use cable restraints ethically in the outdoors. The cable restraint regulations in the Wildlife Code of Missouri will be covered. https://short.mdc.mo.gov/ZGG

Beginning Trap Shooting

(Experienced shotgun shooters, ages 11 & up)

This program is designed for those who have had some experience with shotguns. We will cover safety, appropriate guns and ammunition, rules of the game, etiquette on the field, and field layout. Deer – Field to Freezer

Learn the steps necessary to process deer meat yourself. We will demonstrate how to skin and butcher a deer in simple easy steps with minimum equipment. You will learn tips on how to make sure your venison is the best quality possible. https://short.mdc.mo.gov/ZGG

Deer – Sausage and Burger Making

Animal Trapping Workshop
November 30 & December 1 • Saturday • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. • And • Sunday • 7 a.m.- 3 p.m.
(Ages 11 and up)
Reservations begin November 16
This two-day clinic will consist of classroom and field exercises. Saturday will cover trap types, cable restraints, trap stakes, lure types of traps for particular animals, and setting up a trap line. Sunday, we will run the trap line, dispatch the animals, skin animals, flesh pelts and discuss where to sell your pelts. https://short.mdc.mo.gov/ZGG
