Background
The Missouri Department of Conservation is interested in learning more about the experiences of residents and nonresidents who hunt in Missouri. MDC has created the survey and public comment opportunity in response to public feedback it has received from resident hunters regarding increased hunting pressure in Missouri by nonresident hunters.
Goals and Objectives
To better understand hunters’ perceptions of the hunting experience in Missouri and gauge attitudes of hunters towards potential regulations changes regarding nonresidents hunters, MDC is conducting a survey of resident and nonresident hunters who purchased permits for deer, turkey or waterfowl in the past 2 years. This survey aims to achieve a representative sample of resident hunters from each MDC region and of nonresidents.
In addition to the survey of select resident and nonresident hunters, MDC is providing an open comment opportunity for those who do not receive the survey to have a chance to provide their input.
