School Tour at Peck Ranch

Fourth graders from several Missouri Ozarks schools, including these from Eminence R-1 Elementary, toured Peck Ranch Conservation Area in October with MDC staff, such as MDC Wildlife Management Biologist Preston Mabry pictured here. The tours were funded by a generous grant from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Students learned what makes quality wildlife habitat and they completed nature journals as they explored. The journaling activity is part of MDC’s Discover Nature Schools program.
