MDC and Lincoln University invite landowners to Timber Stand Improvement workshop Oct. 15

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. –The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has partnered with Lincoln University (LU) to host a free workshop introducing landowners to the benefits of Timber Stand Improvement (TSI) practices.  The workshop will take place 8 a.m. – noon on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Lincoln University’s Alan T. Busby Farm, 5124 Goller Road in Jefferson City.

MDC invites teachers to archery instructor course in Saline County

GILLIAM, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites teachers interested in starting archery programs in their schools to attend a Basic Archery Instructor course on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Gilliam C-4 School, 102 East North Ave. The course is part of MDC’s Missouri National Archery in the Schools Program (MoNASP). MDC offers free MoNASP teacher training and equipment grants to help launch in-school archery programs across the state. 

MDC offers hunter education skills course in Columbia Oct. 5

COLUMBIA, Mo. —The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will hold a hunter education skills session in Columbia. The class will take place from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the MDC Central Regional Office, 3500 East Gans Road.  

Students will learn how to be safe, responsible hunters in this course, and upon passing an exam, will earn a hunter education certification card. 

MDC seeks new volunteers to help lead Discover Nature Fishing programs

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a training session in Kirksville to prepare new volunteers to lead Discover Nature Fishing programs. The instructor training will take place Oct 1, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at MDC’s Northeast Regional Office, 3500 South Baltimore Street. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunches. 

MDC invites preschool teachers to Discover Nature Schools workshop in Columbia Oct. 14

COLUMBIA—The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites preschool teachers to an upcoming workshop that will provide free training on improving conservation education in their classrooms, home-school classes, or youth groups. The Discover Nature Schools workshop will take place on Friday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the MDC Central Regional Office, 3500 East Gans Road in Columbia. Space is limited and registration is required by Tuesday, Oct. 11.
