The James River Basin is a sub-basin of the White River Basin which is part of the Arkansas-White-Red drainage system. The basin is located in southwest Missouri in the western portion of Webster County, eastern and southern Greene County, western Christian, Stone and northeastern Barry counties (Figure Lo01). The basin is bordered by the Osage River Basin to the north, the Gasconade River Basin to the northeast, the Spring River Basin to the northwest, the Elk River Basin to the west, and the North Fork of the White River Basin to the east. The James River flows 99 miles southwest into Table Rock Lake. Major tributaries to the James River include Pearson Creek, Wilson Creek, Finley Creek, Crane Creek, and Flat Creek.
