Missouri National Archery in the Schools Program
Change Your Students’ Lives, One Arrow at a Time
Whether you’re a parent, educator, or school administrator, Missouri National Archery in the Schools Program (MoNASP) can help you build stronger, more confident and accomplished kids. MoNASP is modeled on the National Archery in the Schools Program, which began as a simple idea--teach kids the basics of archery as a part of school curriculum.
Soon after it started, archery in the schools showed students, parents and teachers that it has the ability to do the following:
- Improve school attendance
- Increase self-esteem
- Increase physical activity
- Relate to subject matter
- Appeal to all students
- Get kids out-of-doors
- Become an after-school activity
$500 Available for Equipment
Educators often need help including new activities in their budgets. That’s why MoNASP (via the Department of Conservation and the Conservation Federation of Missouri) provides a $500 funding opportunity towards equipment. Contact your local Outdoor Skills Specialist for more information.
Why MoNASP Works
Archery is a sport at which nearly everyone can succeed, regardless of age, size or physical ability. Statistics show that school archery programs engage more students in the educational process, improve classroom performance and reduce dropout rates.
About MoNASP
Missouri National Archery in the Schools Program supports Olympic target archery in 4th- through 12th-grade physical education classes during the school day. The archery in the schools concept has wide appeal, attracting hundreds of schools and more than 1.4 million students across the nation.
