Notice:

Effective March 30, 2012, days of operation at Parma Woods Range & Outdoor Education center are Friday through Sunday, noon to 4:30 p.m. This is a temporary change in days of operation, summer hours take effect May 1, 2012.

Range Hours:

Oct 1 - April 30:

  • Noon-4:30pm Friday-Sunday

May 1-September 30:

  • 10:00am-4:00pm Friday-Sunday

Closed Monday through Thursday and all state holidays

Special hours immediately preceeding deer season. Please call for these hours: 816-891-9941.

Range Info:

  • Rifle/pistol range: $3 per hour per booth. First hour paid in advance. Remainder at checkout. No charge to youth groups (age 18 and under) for competitive or educational shooting.
  • Covered and baffled firing range: Fifteen points for rifle and 10 points for pistol, including one point for disabled shooters on each range. Target sockets on rifle range at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. Target sockets on pistol range at 7, 15, 25 and 50 yards. Bench rests and seats provided. Note: Hearing and eye protection is required. Your own protective equipment is best; however public protective equipment is available if you don’t have your own.
  • Training/meeting room: $20 per hour per permit. One hundred-seat classroom available for group use on days closed to the public.

Location:

  • From downtown Parkville, in Platte County, go west on Route FF (Mill St.) to River Road (intersection at Parkville Vikings football field), then west on River Road about 3 miles. The entrance is located west of I-435.
