Kid's Fishing Pond FAQ and Rules
The Kid's Fishing Pond is open from 9am to 4pm when the Center is open.
Families must check in at the Center before fishing. Fishing gear and bait are available at the Center. If a pole doesn't work, return it to the front desk.
Children must be 15 years old or younger to fish. Adults can help, but they cannot fish. An adult must be with children at all times.
After fishing, remove any bait from the hook and return the pole, tackle box and bait container back to the front desk. Report how many fish were caught and released and how many and what kind of fish are being kept.
Pets must be kept on a leash. Pets are not allowed in the building.
Methods and bait
Only pole-and-line fishing is allowed.
Each child can only use one pole. Families can use their own poles and bait, but must check in at the front desk before fishing.
Children can use any baits EXCEPT those transported or held in containers with water.
Do not dump bait in or around the pond.
Children can catch-and-release as many fish as they'd like, but can only keep two. Once a child has kept two fish he/she must stop fishing.
Once a fish is caught and kept in a bucket or on a stringer it cannot be returned to the pond.
If a fish swallows a hook and the child doesn't want to keep it, cut the line and return the fish to the water.
Trout are catch-and-release unless the child has a trout permit.
