The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) encourages you to enjoy the harvest at this year’s SEMO District Fair. Conservation exhibits at this year’s fair will feature tips on how you can enjoy harvesting Missouri game, fish and wild edibles. For those who are experienced at this, the Department invites you to send in photos of your harvest for display during the fair.

“Missouri is a great place to hunt and fish and many Missourians can attest to that fact,” said Candice Davis, a media specialist with the Department. “We invite Southeast Missourians to send in photos that show how they enjoy their harvest so that they can be a part of inspiring others to do the same.”

Davis said photos must be in good taste and meet ethical requirements.

“Being a good steward of conservation is of utmost importance,” she said, adding that photos depicting any over-harvest or other evidence that wildlife regulations were not adhered to, will not be displayed.

Davis said photos may be either emailed to Candice.Davis@mdc.mo.gov, or mailed to the Southeast Regional Office at 2302 County Park Drive, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63701, ATTN: SEMO Fair. Mailed entries must be postmarked by Aug. 15 for consideration. Submitted photos will not be returned.  The photo display will be featured at the Conservation Pavilion during the SEMO District Fair, Sept. 6-13.
