MDC offers landowner pond workshop in Maries County

VIENNA, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is hosting a pond management workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 13 in Vienna. The workshop is free, but space is limited and participants must pre-register by March 12.

The workshop will cover a wide variety of topics including pond site selection, pond construction, pond stocking, fisheries management, aquatic vegetation management, pond watershed management, and nuisance wildlife.

Professionals from MDC, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will give presentations and will be available to answer questions. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.

The workshop will be held at the Maries R1 public high school community classroom in Vienna. For more information, or to register for the workshop, please call MDC Fisheries Management Biologist Scott Williams at 573-796-0286, ext. 4284.
