MDC and NWTF offer JAKES Outdoor Event in Warrensburg

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Stealth Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation invite youth ages 8 – 17 to their annual JAKES Outdoor Event on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the University of Central Missouri Trap and Skeet Range in Warrensburg. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and lunch will be provided.

The JAKES event (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge Ethics & Sportsmanship) will provide various outdoor activities including trap shooting, shotgun patterning, game calling, archery shooting, fishing, and more. Shotguns and ammunition will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own firearms and ammunition they plan to use during fall turkey season. Door prizes will also be given away.

Youth 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited and pre-registration is required by Aug. 11. For more information and to register, call 660-530-5500.
