JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Discover nature and relax while listening to an open air summer concert featuring Kansas City musicians Michael Fraser and Tenley Hansen at the Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) Runge Conservation Nature Center. The music duo will present Musical Maples from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. The concert is free and open to the public.
Fraser, an accomplished Ozark fiddler, and partner Hansen specialize in performing traditional music of the Ozarks. In Musical Maples, the music duo uses storytelling, live music performed on mandolin, violin and guitar, and a variety of visual aids to relay the importance of maple trees to Missouri. The performance promises an enjoyable mix of entertainment and education suitable for the whole family.
Runge Nature Center is located on Hwy 179 in Jefferson City approximately .5 mile north of Hwy 50. Building hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Thursdays. The building is closed on Sunday and Monday. The outdoor trails are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
