WINONA, Mo -- The Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) Twin Pines Conservation Education Center will host its 6th Annual Heritage Day on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help Missourians discover nature and a bit about the Ozarks way of life. The day’s events include demonstrations, music, and an old fashioned fish fry. Demonstrators will include Dave Ferguson making turkey calls, Jacob Martin flint knapping, Mike Holmes crafting mandolins, the Spinners and Weavers Guild, the Older Iron Club, tie hackers, soapmakers, quilters, boat makers, paddle makers, and more. Old fashioned kids games and toys will be demonstrated and crafted on site as well. Archery and fishing opportunities are available for the whole family with no permits needed for fishing in the Center's onsite pond.
Twin Pines welcome's back Dennis McSpadden of Van Buren who will be cooking up a free fish fry from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or while supplies last. Sponsored by the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation, the feast will include fried catfish, fries, hushpuppies, cobbler, and cookies.
The Bakers of Birch Tree will provide entertainment from noon to 2 p.m.
Parking on site is limited to handicap accessible, however ample parking is available at Paramount Industries on Highway 19 North with shuttle service provided.

Located on Highway 60 in Winona Missouri 1.3 miles east of the intersection with Highway 19 North, Twin Pines is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
