CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center will host its first canoe trip of the season at Duck Creek Conservation Area (CA) on April 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"Missouri offers many excellent opportunities for boating and fishing," said MDC Naturalist Greg Jacobs, "including ample opportunities to leisurely kayak and canoe and enjoy the scenery."
Jacobs added that’s exactly what’s in store for the Cape Nature Center’s first canoe trip of the 2012 season.
“Participants are encouraged to bring their own canoe or kayak, or they can call to reserve one of ours,” he said. “Those who need it can receive basic instructions and water-safety training prior to the trip.”
Jacobs said this event will help people discover nature and celebrate Missouri’s great outdoor opportunities.
