EMINENCE, Mo. -- A Family Farm and Forest Landowner Field Day will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crystal Creek Ranch, located west of Eminence. The event is free and open to the public with family-friendly activities and a free BBQ lunch. The purpose of the event is to show landowners how to support the health and wealth of family farms and forests.

Multiple agencies have partnered to offer field demonstrations, activities for children and a free lunch. Topics will include forest management, grazing systems, flood-resistant fencing, feral hog control, and new ways to provide water for cattle. Children's activities include fishing, hay rides and hands-on learning about crawdads, insects, mammals and trapping.

Support and funding for this event is provided by the Shannon County Farm Bureau, Missouri Department of Conservation, University of Missouri Extension, The Nature Conservancy and the U.S. Forest Service.
