Join our certified firearms instructors as we explore the fun of shooting in a safe and controlled environment. This course will cover all major types of firearms and will include live fire. DISCOVER NATURE — FAMILY SQUIRREL HUNTING CLINIC

Hunting squirrels is a time honored tradition and rite of passage for many youths. It is also a great way to spend time as a family and provide meat for the table. Join our team of experienced hunters as we teach you everything you need to know to find success hunting squirrels. We’ll talk about regulations, equipment, how to find squirrels, and what to do if you take a few. This class does involve an actual hunting experience, so all participants must meet any legal requirements for hunting. You may register at 816-891-9941

The cable restraint training course addresses how to use cable restraints in a responsible manner to catch live foxes, coyotes and nuisance animals.

Lesson 1: Combines instruction with hands-on fishing to teach young anglers and families basic fishing techniques and skills. Participants will learn how to properly and safely cast a spincast fishing pole, parts of a fishing pole, how to fasten basic fishing tackle and how to properly handle and release a fish. Lesson 2: Combines instruction with hands-on fishing to teach young anglers and families intermediate fishing techniques and skills. Participants will learn to tie an improved clinch knot and how to properly secure a variety of baits to various types of hooks.

Participants are limited to anglers ages 7 – 15 and families with children. Fishing equipment, instructors/coaches and bait/lures will be provided. Lesson 3: Combines instruction with hands-on fishing to teach young anglers and families basic biological concepts and functions specific to largemouth bass, bluegill, hybrid sunfish, channel catfish and rainbow trout. Participants will learn the different components of fish anatomy and their functions. In addition, participants will learn about various types of fish habitat and aquatic food webs. Lesson 4: Combines instruction with hands-on fishing to teach young anglers and families how to properly select a fishing lure based on desired fish species, weather and water conditions. In addition, participants will learn how to identify and understand fishing regulations.

Participants are limited to anglers ages 7 – 15 and families with children. Fishing equipment, instructors/coaches and bait/lures will be provided.
