Distribution

- Barton, Cedar, Dade and Vernon Counties:
- Most reports come from the west side of Stockton Reservoir, in the Sons Creek, Ruark Bluff, Hawker Point and Mutton Creek areas.
- Barry and Stone Counties:
- Mostly on U.S. Forest Service lands between Shell Knob and Cape Fair in the Piney Creek, Woolley Creek and Flat Creek drainages. Also reported between Table Rock Lake and Hwy. 86 in southern Stone County.
- Bates and Cass Counties:
- Along the Grand River bottoms on Settle’s Ford Conservation Area, around the perimeter of Settle’s Ford Conservation Area, and south into Bates County.
- Benton County:
- Little Tebo Creek Wildlife Management Area, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers land south of Fristoe, and the Cole Camp Creek area.
- Clark County:
- North of Hwy. NN and west of Hwy. 81 including Charlie Heath Memorial Conservation Area and Clark Conservation Area.
- Henry County:
- On U.S. Army Corps of Engineers land around Truman Lake, mainly around the Upper Tebo Wildlife Management Area near Highway Z and along the Henry/Benton county line.
- Iron, Reynolds, Washington and Madison Counties:
- Thinly scattered on U.S. Forest Service lands. To determine where feral hogs are concentrated, locate Council Bluff Lake in Iron County (northeast of the intersection of Hwys. 32 and DD). From the Washington County line, draw a line on your map through the center of Council Bluff Lake due South into Reynolds County about 4 miles. Hogs have been reported in the area approximately 7 miles on either side of this line. Areas located off of Forest Service roads in this region can be considered good feral hog hunting territory. Most reports come from an area east of Bixby that is south of Hwy. 32, west of Hwy. 49 and east of Hwy. A.
- Madison County:
- 2-3 miles south of Hwy. E near the Madison/Iron county line (Sections 30 and 31) and 1-2 miles south of the southernmost point of Rte. KK and one mile west of Hwy. EE and C (Section 10).
- Ozark County:
- U.S. Forest Service and Army Corps of Engineer lands around Bull Shoals Lake. North of Theodosia in the Barren Fork drainage.
- Phelps County:
- Near U.S. Forest Service Road 1769 that runs east off of Highway K about 1 ¼ miles south of the K and J junction.
- Pulaski County:
- Feral hog hunting efforts have been largely successful on Fort Leonard Wood, so hunting feral hogs there is currently discouraged due to extremely low populations. A small population may still exist near the southwest corner of the base in adjoining Forest Service property.
- Taney County:
- On U.S. Forest Service lands between Hercules and Fairview in the Big Creek drainage.
- Schuyler and Putnam County:
- Hogs might be found at the border near the Iowa state line.Shannon County: On National Park Service land along the Current River.
- Stoddard County:
- East side of Mingo National Wildlife Refuge which is 2-3 miles north of Puxico.
