2011 Archery Turkey Hunting

Season Dates:

• September 15-November 11, 2011
• November 23, 2011-January 15, 2012

Shooting hours

• One-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset

Valid permits

• Resident or Nonresident Archer’s Hunting Permit
• Resident Landowner Archer’s Hunting Permit

Season limit

• two turkeys

Point to remember

• Archers hunting turkey during the archery season may not be in possession of a firearm.

Methods allowed

• a longbow, compound bow or recurve bow of any draw weight; handheld string releasing devices, illuminated sights, scopes and quick point sights are allowed

Methods prohibited

• a bow fastened to a stock or other device that maintains the bow in a drawn position
• any sighting device that casts a beam of light on the game
• use of dogs, bait, electronic calls, electronically activated calls or live decoys
