Workshops and Clinics
So you've got your temporary Hunter Ed card. Now what? Take a step closer to your first hunting experience and sign up for a Discover Hunting workshop or clinic.
These hands-on workshops build on the foundation of hunter education to create knowledgeable, responsible and confident hunters ready to go afield for their first actual hunt. Discover Hunting programs also help you appreciate and respect the wildlife you harvest and the habitats that sustain them. Discover Hunting workshops may even inspire you to "pay it forward," mentoring new hunters and sharing the joys of simply being outdoors in nature—even if the "big one" gets away.
Discover Hunting workshops and clinics offer training in these specific skills:
- Basic and advanced rifle and shotgun shooting
- Introduction to trap and skeet
- Wildlife identification
- Introduction to deer, turkey and waterfowl hunting
- Advanced hunting clinics
Become a Volunteer
You can help support these programs when you become a volunteer at an MDC nature center or shooting range and outdoor education center.
