In 2010, the Missouri Department of Conservation implemented a new, web-based pilot draw system for waterfowl hunters on three of the Department’s 15 conservation areas that offer managed waterfowl hunting. The remaining 12 conservation areas offering managed waterfowl hunting remain under the traditional reservation system.

Quick Draw is an on-line draw system designed to enhance convenience, reduce travel time and expense, and offer hunters more flexibility at select areas. Quick Draw provides hunters the option of applying twice a week, once for hunts occurring Friday through Monday and once for hunts occurring Tuesday through Thursday. Quick Draw begins accepting applications a week before the opening of waterfowl season. Quick Draw is offered at Grand Pass, Eagle Bluffs and Otter Slough. Hunters who apply and are drawn using Quick Draw receive a guaranteed line position for their hunt.

How to apply

Waterfowl hunters can apply for slots through Quick Draw beginning approximately one week before the season opener.

Waterfowl hunters can apply for reservations on the 12 other conservation areas beginning September 1 through September 18. Results will be available October 1.
