Pools/Units Open for Hunting The East Side refuge, West side refuge, and the two fields on either side of the entrance road, north of the railroad tracks, are closed to light goose hunting. The remainder of the area is open to light goose hunting.
Area Hunt Procedures All hunters must check in prior to hunting and check out at the conclusion of their hunt at the Hunter Checkin Room located on the west end of the area shop building.

Have drawn almost all of flood waters off of pools along Grand River to prepare for construction work. Starting to draw down some of the east side pools. Have seen very few snow geese in the area over the last couple of days and feel like most snow geese have migrated north of this area.

Snow goose numbers have varied from a few thousand to 20,000 plus on a daily basis. Geese are roosting and loafing on the south end of the reservoir by the dam and trading out to feed to the west and north.
