Trophies
The
wild turkey is a beautiful bird and can be mounted in many different ways,
allowing you to enjoy the memories of your hunt indefinitely. The beard needs
no special treatment to be displayed. The fan should be spread out and pinned
to cardboard to Styrofoam. Sprinkle salt and borax on the fleshy part of the
tail. Allow the fan to dry for several weeks and it will remain fanned out.
The fan, in combination with the beard, makes an attractive trophy.
A taxidermist can mount the full body of your turkey in a strutting, standing or flying position, or just about any way you desire. To protect your turkey mount from moths, rub borax into the feathers.
