How we manage them
In Missouri, three species of fish—the northern goggle-eye (Ambloplites rupestris), shadow bass (Ambloplites ariommus) and Ozark bass (Ambloplites constellatus)--are collectively referred to as goggle-eye and are managed under the same regulations. In order to increase our knowledge of goggle-eye, biologists conduct studies to determine population size or relative abundance, size, structure, growth rates, condition factors and the impact anglers have on individual populations and survival rates.
