NOTE: Outdoor Classroom Development Grants are no longer available through the Missouri Department of Conservation. However, a component of several Discover Nature Schools grants provides $250 for native plants, native aquatic plants and materials to create a small water feature. Contact your local Conservation Education Consultant for more information.
Missouri’s K-12th-grade students can help Missouri’s endangered species just by learning and caring about them and their habitat. Every year, we challenge students to make a postcard showing one or more endangered Missouri species that depend on a particular habitat. The first-place winners in all five age categories get their postcards printed and sold through the MDC Nature Shop. How cool is that?!
Teach students how to think, not what to think, about the environment. PLT provides training and professional development opportunities for teachers, non-formal educators and pre-service teachers.
Emphasizing wildlife’s intrinsic value, Project WILD addresses the need for human beings to develop as responsible citizens of our planet.
