Elmslie Forest
Upland forests along the South Fork of the North River in the Eastern Section of the Glaciated Plains Natural Division. Several upland forest communities with glade openings provide a high native plant diversity. Some of the dominant trees are post, white and northern red oak. Bottomland forest occurs along the river and dry, open forest communities occur where the soil is shallow and rocky.
