She says she understands Conservation Commissioner Anita Gorman's attachment to nature and the importance of passing that appreciation on to the next generation. Her own three children, Hannah, Nora and Will, spent their early years on a farm in the Ozarks. She and her husband, Don, now live in Jefferson City.
contributor image Jim Low is the Conservation Department's news services coordinator. He holds degrees in wildlife management and journalism from the University of Missouri Columbia. Besides fishing and hunting, he enjoys nature photography, landscaping with native plants and nature journaling.
contributor image Before joining the faculty of the University of Missouri Forestry Department in 1998, Rose-Marie Muzika worked with the U.S. Forest Service in West Virginia and Oregon. She enjoys hiking and exploring the wonders of Missouri with her husband Kevin and daughters, Camille and Emma.
contributor image Tom Nagel is a natural history biologist with the Conservation Department. His enjoyment of the outdoors began on hunting and fishing trips with his father and brothers. Other outdoor interests include canoeing, hiking, and birding. He lives in St. Joseph.

In his 27 years with the Department, he's worked at Poplar Bluff, Sullivan, New Madrid, Neosho and Springfield, where he now lives with his wife, Marita. He enjoys fishing, hunting and restoring vintage military rifles.
