Twin Pines Conservation Education Center hosts Family Fish Day

WINONA, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) Twin Pines Conservation Education Center invites the public to attend Family Fish Day, on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"This is an opportunity for families to fish together in the pond, enjoy nature-themed activities and really discover nature together," said Skyler Bockman, manager of Twin Pines.

Kids' Fishing Day scheduled for Montauk State Park

LICKING, Mo. – Young anglers will have opportunities to catch fish and learn about fishing at Montauk State Park's Kids' Fishing Day. This event will be held 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Montauk State Park. The event is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

MDC uses computer and satellite technology for deer study

King City, Mo. – Biologists for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) are learning more about white-tailed deer survival, reproduction and movement as a five-year study progresses. The new study utilizes computer, telemetry and satellite technology to track deer in partnership with researchers at the University of Missouri at Columbia (UMC).

MDC seeks public input for Peck Ranch Conservation Area

WINONA, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) wants to know what Missourians think about its nearly 1,000 conservation areas around the state. MDC is in the multi-year process of updating management plans for conservation areas and invites public comments.

A draft management plan for Peck Ranch Conservation Area is available from MDC for public review during April. To preview the draft plan and to provide comment, visit mdc.mo.gov/areaplans.
