Members of the Missouri Conservation Commission and the director of the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) on Monday (June 13) dedicated the new MDC Kansas City regional office and headquarters for the James A. Reed Memorial Conservation Area.
The James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area near Lee’s Summit has provided fishing, hunting, shooting and hiking opportunities for the Kansas City area for almost 50 years, including the outing enjoyed by these anglers this autumn.
Mary Silwance of Kansas City reeled in a big bluegill at the WOW outdoor education camp on Sept. 22 at MDC's James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area as her daughter, Imani Im, helped her celebrate the catch.
MDC protects and manages Missouri's fish, forest, and wildlife resources. We also facilitate your participation in resource-management activities, and we provide opportunities for you to use, enjoy and learn about nature.
