Chad Smith, the area manager at Whetstone Creek Conservation Area, has been watching this rooster for a couple days. Chad said the bird flies in and feeds under the brush hog. Easy pickings with all the seeds and dead insects.

Great pictures, but mowing still doesn't get my vote as a good habitat practice for quail.

It’s a shame that little Miss Muffett was too frightened to meet the spider that sat down beside her. She would have discovered that spiders are exceptional creatures.
