Youth Waterfowl Weekend: Duck Creek Opportunities
Sorry for the late notice, but the flooding situation at Duck Creek has been rather fluid since we turned the wells on. This morning we were able to assess the water conditions in Units A and B. We’ve made considerable progress in the last week and a half. This weekend we will be providing a total of 12 positions on Duck Creek.
• 3 in Unit B south of McGee Creek
• 7 in Unit A
• 1 at the fishponds
• 1 in the Kinder pool
Three additional positions will be available at Dark Cypress.
These are all wade-in hunt opportunities. We currently do not have any blinds available.
The draw for this weekend’s youth hunt will be at 4:45 on Saturday and Sunday.
The last waterfowl count was earlier this week was 4,071 ducks. Yesterday appeared to be a flight day and there were definitely more birds roosting in Pool 1 this morning.
