Highway C Open Again

Nov 01, 2010

I’ve got good news for those of you who drive east or westbound on Highway C.

A portion that has been closed for the last couple weeks is open again. Missouri Department of Transportation has been replacing the decrepit old culvert, and they are pretty much finished with the project and allowing traffic to pass through. This project was a collaboration between MDC and MDOT, in which both agencies benefited from the work and shared the cost.

Now that we have a new culvert, the next area of focus will be cleaning out the several foot of sediment in the ditch. This is another step closer in renovating the ditch system that delivers water from the Castor River to Duck Creek’s Pool 1.

On a final note, I'm glad no one will have to take the detour on their way to the morning draw next week.
