Equipment Loan Program
What: Fishing rods and reels are available to individuals and groups. Most combinations are spincast (push button) style; however, some equipment is also available for people with disabilities.
Where: Equipment is available at: August A. Busch Conservation Area and the Forest Park Office. All equipment must be picked up and dropped off at one of the above offices, by the party using the equipment.
How: Reserve equipment from the Busch Area by calling the St. Louis Regional Office at (636) 441-4554. Forest Park equipment can be reserved by calling the Forest Park office at (314) 877-1309. Equipment is available on first-come, first-served basis, so MDC suggests reserving equipment at least 2 weeks in advance. All equipment should be returned in the same condition as it was received.
Fee: Equipment is offered, free of charge.
Special conditions:
Equipment at August A. Busch Conservation Area is available for use on the Busch Area only. Also, Busch equipment reservation includes use of rod/reel storage racks and tackle box with terminal tackle.
- All equipment must be returned to the office from which it was borrowed, and in the same condition as it was received.
- The Forest Park office also offers equipment for people with disabilities.
- Fishing equipment is not automatically reserved for groups using Conservation Fishing Center lakes at the Busch Conservation Area, Bellefontaine Conservation Area, Forest Park, or Suson Park. MDC or self-supplied tackle must be arranged by the reserving party.
