A 385-acre portion of the Weldon Spring Conservation Area in Sections 4 and 5, T45N, R3E, Weldon Spring 7.5 min. topographic map. Access is by foot from Hwy 94 or the Katy Trail State Park. A hiking trail also crosses the conservation area. Designated June 16, 1983.
Natural Features
Scenic upland and bottomland forests, high limestone cliffs, intermittent streams and rugged riverbreak topography in the Missouri River Section of the Ozark Border Natural Division. Soils are primarily Goss cherty silt loam and Menfro silt loam. There are many species of trees and wildflowers, as well as characteristic forest wildlife. The cliffs are used as nesting sites by Canada geese. The area is owned by the Department of Conservation.
