Welcome to the Bennett Spring Fish Hatchery
|
|
|
In the 1920’s the state of Missouri acquired one of Missouri’s
true outdoor treasures, Bennett Spring. The purchase of over
500 acres included a spring and fish hatchery. This was the
beginning of one of Missouri’s most scenic state parks and
some of the best trout fishing in the state. The park has
seen increased use since its inception and has become a popular
vacation destination for many families that span generations.
The
draw for many is the simple beauty, for others the fishing experience
is unmatched. Today, Bennett Spring State Park has an average
of approximately 800,000 visits annually and has had as many as
180,000 anglers come to test their skills. The hatchery stocks
approximately 350,000 to 420,000 rainbow trout into the Bennett
Spring branch annually.
